A Day in the Life of a Daycare Dog

Kim & Fletcher enjoying each other
and the day.

(as narrated by Fletcher, a fun-loving great dane)

6:30 Breakfast as usual. Can we maybe once try a little variety?
6:45 Settle in for another lazy, boring day at home alone.
7:15 Yeehaw! Dad says we’re going to daycare.
7:20 Drag Dad to the car.
7:35 Turn on Featherstone…only one mile to go.
7:37 Drag Dad into daycare.
7:38 Wag my way into the entry area. Miss Kathy, hurry! (I love her.)
7:40 Finally, we’re at the door to the playroom. I wonder who’s already here. I think I’m supposed to sit before she’ll open the door. Yes!
7:41 Hey everybody! Sniff, sniff, sniff, and more sniffing.
7:43 And the play time begins. I love it when that little black and white dog chases me. She’s a flirt, too!
7:49 More friends arrive. Yeah! Now we can really get this party started. Who can run the fastest today? Me, I bet!
8:04 More friends are here.
8:35 And even more friends!
9:45 There’s the new girl. Miss Kim is keeping a close eye on her ‘cuz she’s seems a little shy. Maybe I can coax her to play with me. (Then Miss Kim will pay more attention to me, too. I love her.)
10:15 Fun crowd today. Is it lunch time yet?
10:22 That brown dog got a time out. Poor guy. Wonder what he did? Maybe he got a little too excited in the play.
11:46 Finally…Mr. Ralph has our snacks ready. Can’t talk now, must refuel.
12:00 I love the sleepy-time music they play here. So nice to nap to. And my crate is especially cozy today. Is that lavender I smell?
2:00 Yawn! Ok, ready to run again! First I have to sit to go into the playroom.
2:27 Why does that yellow dog hog all the tennis balls? Jeesh!
2:45 Let’s take a peek at the little dogs….what’s going on in there today? That fluffy one with the pink bow on her ear is a cute one. Ooh, ooh, and the skinny one, too.
3:05 I love Miss Julie. Oops, I must not jump on her. If I do she’ll just ignore me.
3:45 Miss Julie is playing tug with the black and tan guy. Can I get in on that action?
4:15 Was that the doorbell? Dern, the shy girl is going home.
4:20 Thirsty…need to drink more water, lots more.
4:53 Ugh, more pals are leaving. Ok, see you next time.
5:11 I think I’ll lay here and let Miss Julie pet me. (Kinda tired.)
5:37 Doorbell….hey! I think that is my Mom. I love her.
5:38 Last cookie, drat. Bye!
5:40 The back seat is so comfortable…..Zzzzzzz.
